DISABLED AIRCRAFT WHEEL

LIFT DOLLIES

Advanced Tech Supply is an authorized distributor of Disabled Aircraft Wheel Lift Dollies.

The Disabled Aircraft Wheel Lift Dolly is used to assist in the removal of disabled aircraft.  It is designed to recover disabled aircraft from active runway areas when the aircraft is rendered immobile due to locked brakes, ground down rims flat tires and other similar conditions.    More than one dolly may be used to support more than one gear simultaneously.   Use of the dolly expedites movement and precludes the necessity for secondary handling - jacking or blocking - prior to removal of the aircraft from an active operation area to a maintenance area.

The dolly is equipped with 360 degree swivel casters that provide unlimited directional control during interface with the aircraft.  Universal tow bar attachment points are located at both ends of certain units.  All control for the operation of the dolly can be successfully operated by 2 or more people and can remove a crippled aircraft from a runway in less than 5 minutes!

To successfully remove a disabled aircraft from a runway area, the dolly is moved to a position adjacent to the disabled wheel and aligned longitudinally with the aircraft line of travel.  It is then moved laterally to straddle the aircraft wheel until the wheel is centered on the dolly lifting surfaces.

The dolly crowd frame is retracted until the lift plate and slide plate come in contact with the wheel and being to raise the aircraft.  The lift plate is then raised until the lift plate and slide plate locks secure the load.  The dolly is then connected to a standard tow vehicle using a universal tow bar and towed to the maintenance area.
